Advocad Capture Privacy Policy
Effective 13 July 2026 ยท Advocad (advocad.ai)
Advocad Capture lets you log the engagement (reach) of your own posts to your Advocad account. It only ever acts on a single page you choose, when you ask it to. This page explains exactly what it accesses and why.
What the extension accesses
- The content of a page you choose to capture. Only when you open the extension on an individual post/video/article and press capture does it read that page's visible text and engagement counts (likes, views, reposts, claps, etc.). It does not read pages you don't capture, your browsing history, your feed, your inbox/DMs, or profiles.
- Your Advocad sign-in. To show which account a capture will sync to and to save it, the extension reads your name and email from an open Advocad tab and receives a short-lived Advocad access token over a secure, Advocad-only channel.
How that information is used
- The captured page text is sent to Advocad's servers and processed (including by an AI model) to extract the engagement numbers, a title, and a short excerpt. The result becomes an activity on your Advocad account, the numbers you're tracking.
- Your name/email are used only to display the connected account. The access token is used only to save the capture as you, and is stored solely in your browser's session storage. It is never sold, shared, or sent anywhere except Advocad.
What we do not do
- No background or automatic collection. Every capture is a single action you initiate.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of your data with third parties.
- No advertising, cross-site tracking, or building profiles of your browsing.
- No reading of feeds, profiles, search pages, timelines, or private messages.
Permissions, in plain terms
activeTab / scripting: read the content of the one post you press capture on, and read your login status from an open Advocad tab.
tabs: know which tab is active and whether an Advocad tab is open.
storage: remember your connection between captures for the browser session.
- Site access (x.com, linkedin.com, instagram.com, advocad.ai): read engagement counts from a post you capture on those platforms, and communicate with Advocad. Other sites are read only via
activeTab when you explicitly capture them.
Data retention & deletion
Activities you save live in your Advocad account and can be edited or deleted there at any time. The access token is discarded when your browser session ends. Deleting an activity in Advocad removes it.
